Attack of the Air Con men
I don't like these air con people.
Air CON men are CON men..
Tsk.
I called them up to friggin service my aircon.. paid 300 bux for 3 times service..
Reasonable?
In the end, they took half hour to take off the freaking casing, wipe it clean, used some stupid brush to clean the inside and put the cover back.
WTF. Like that I also can do..
Worse still, they will tell me 1001 things WRONG about my air con..
No more Freon lah.. compressor abnormal lah.. need chemical cleaning lah..
Best still..
He wiped his hand accorss the compressor and said... "Look.. dusty! so black!"
"WTF!! Idiot.. dusty is black lah! And of course dusty lah!! I put my shoes there will also get dusty after a while what"
... dusty means must be abnormal and must do chemical cleaning all these meh???
Then CON men told me to get all those fixed will be another 200 to 300 bucks...
Like that might as well buy new air con right?
I comprained big time..angry liao..
I told him to tell me exactly what he did for the 100 bucks service..
So he showed me the list..
1. Clean and check air filter and cover... (clean??? you mean use your brush and brush up and down 5 times???Check??? check what?? if it's still there????)
2. Check bio pure filter...
3. Check indoor cooling coil
4. Clean and check condenser coil (CLEAN? you freaking wipe here and there only!)
5. Check compressor suction
6. Check motor bearing..
7. Flush drainage.
So.. check check check....you come all the way to just check???
So check oredi.. if got something wrong.. then too bad lah?? IS IT??
You come here to service not to check leh!!!
Other than flush the drainage system..
I probably know how to do everything else myself!
Just wipe here and there and bring a brush what!
I told him exactly that!!.. then the air con men challenged me somemore..Said that I probably don't know how to open the air con cover..
Bah... you think I got no screw driver meh??
So, you mean I paid you 100 dollars so that you can help me open the air con cover ah??

I think those air con men earn a lot sial.. 100 bux for half hour SHIT job.
next time I go do my own company also..

Hahaha! I encountered the same problem as you once. On the day before the next service date, I clean up all the aircon on my own till I could literally see my teeth on it. When the a/c men came, they were surprice that there was nothing routine for them to do. So they pump some gas & THEN, they told me my a/c needed chemical cleaning. Sss.....:[
Con men indeed, even all around the world lerr..not only in singapore, Indo also .All they suggest is either you refill freon or change the fecken' compressor, which both are easy for them and cost the customers a fortune! They might as well poke around, steal the compressor and blame it on midnite thieves. Better watch out em cons.
Poor girl...my advise is that if your air-con is more than 3 yrs old...change to a new one...now days not worth repairing or servicing coz it will end-up like just 30% short for a new one...
the only time i call up those a/c service ppl is that i need to refill the freon...
and u only need to refill the freon if u find the a/c is not cold anymore... the rest of the cleaning, u can do urself. the chem cleaning is just BS.. =X

ciscalim: oh yeah man.. indon ones lagi scary im sure.. they purposely spoir it so that they'll be needed again in few mths.. somemore the electricity in jkt is not smooth. compressor sure 'ngejeblak' very often... their playground liao..

Since u are renting the apt, I think it is part of the tenant's responsibility to ensure that some "professional" comes to service the air-con. The last time I rented an apt, I had regular servicing done but the darn landlady insisted on seeing the da*n invoice from the service company. In the end, I had to call them in again before I moved out.
Hmm! You better think twice about getting the a/c men to clean or mop your floor. They might end the job by telling you that your floor need chemical cleaning also. Sss....:L
next time show them ur engg degree b4 they start so they wun play play.

i think they should teach engg students how to fix household appliances first before thermo, static, dynamic all these mambo jumbo =P
