Esplanade Unplugged- O Krystaball

HELLO

I have mentioned about my musical baby a few times.

I wrote my first musical for the Musical Theatre Society last year.

I 've been working on it and last last week, we just presented it to a panel of veterans, including Dick Lee himself, Ivan Heng, Beatrice Chia and Mommy Stella Kon.

5 musicals under Five Foot Broadway which is MTS' subsidiary was incubated last batch.

Including Ng Yi Sheng's Georgette and Alex Wang's Believe.

Yi Sheng is of course not a new name in the local play scene.

Marcelly is.

My musical is called O Krystaball.

ANYWAY.

We are now showcasing the 5 musicals at Esplanade Concourse next week.

Venue: ESPLANADE CONCOURSE

Date: 2nd - 4th April Monday to Thursday

Time : 7pm onwards.

Admission : Free

My slot is Tuesday 3 rd April 8 pm.

O Krystaball is a simple love story, or maybe a tad too simple...

It's story of a naive girl who believes in love, and fell for a bad boy,

Their love was tested by the words of a fortune teller and the skepticism of the people around her.

It's my baby. Now it's ready for a small, simple showcase.

I love the songs.

I don't know if everyone would love it though.

It would be a simple set-up. I would be singing the songs with my babe Jackie, Garry and a talented pianist I got to know a few years back. Kenneth Ngo.

That Sea Cafe in Sentosa

How sexy does that sound?

In Italian it should be Cafe Il Mare.

Prease go see see if you haven't.. google it out!

It's this beach bar in Sentosa, inspired by Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza, Spain.

Complete with bikini babes in the pool, chill out comfy sofas, soft wash lighting, Buddha bar/DJ Pippi/Cafe Del Mar tunes ablazing and cocktail glasses.

Anyway, we partied there a few months back. Thanks heaps to May who got me acquainted with the Manager there, Aida.

Apparently, Mr Gan's best friend (handsome hunky model btw...Hansen),

is a buddy of the two MTV chio bus, May and Choy. So we have been hanging out eversince.

Ah.. I always knew Mr Gan will add value to my life.

Hehe..

So, we booked the whole left jacuzi VIP area. Yummeeee...

Ok, this is the story. Jun actually wanted to take photo with May and Choy. He a big fan and any natural guy would be enticed by the sight of two chio bus..

eh somemore buy one get one free leh..!!

But he is a very shy yandao.

So in the end, pose pose so long already, we forced the guys to take photo with us instead.

"Me and JAckie not hot enough ah? Don't friend you.."

"OK lah ok lah... take with you two lah.."

But the babes of course get full accesss...

She was calling out for Mr Gan.

Her hand was on my thigh and I think Jun's face was black.

Hehez.. hehez..... jearousssss????????

All in all, the place was awesome, the crowd was great..

The chio bus were ample..

The yandaos a bit redundant..

but like I said earlier,

the service in Cafe Del Mar is SHIT.

I don't really fancy running around to look for waitress.

HELLOO???

If you can't even service the people in the VIP area, who the hell are they gonna give good service to??

Once I managed to trap a waiter within my power.

The drinks then...took ages.. bleah.. another waiting.

I think by the time the drinks arrived, the guys were drunk by the panorama already.

Ok lah... if you wanna go. You can go once in a blue moon.

No matter how nice the place is,

I'd rather go somewhere more accessible and some where I feel home.

Where the waiters call me by my name and I get my drinks before I finish my fags.

My Crazy babe hitchhiked to Paris

My babe Cat had been living in Germany, India, Ireland and South Africa for the last 2 years, pursuing her jolly good enlightenment on human nature and social culture and how woman in some African tribes increase in value with the number of guys she had sex with.. and how this and that country is so dysfuncational.. and bleah.. ok nevermind, basically, she's taking Masters in Sociology. I can't wait til she comes back and tell me how disgusting the people of the world is, all over again.


The thing is. She wrote me an email.
She just hitch hiked to Paris from Germany. (Doesn't it sound like what a normal Singaporean wouldn't experience in their lifetime? Kudos to her courage)


Here's the story..


So I just got back from the craziest trip of my
life... Freddie and I were both broke as a joke but we
wanted to go to Paris...so we decided to hitch hike to Paris...the way there was a bit of a disaster....But we got to Paris in the end...after almost being deported at the French border (because I didn't bring my passport) and very nearly escaping getting raped by 2 Turkish guys...(Celly-Geez..) then we got another ride with a guy who just wanted to have us in his car eventhough he was going in the opposite direction of Paris...(Celly- ?????)
so we were on the road for about 5hrs getting
from Freiburg to Strasbourg and then back to Freiburg...
we were gonna give up and just head home , but we met another guy who was smoking the biggest splif in the world, who was going to STrasbourg...so
we took the ride with him back to Strasbourg for the 2nd time in 5hrs...then we took a train to Paris from there because it was already dark and it's too dangerous to hitch hike at night...but Freddie almost got thrown out of the train half way because we got
the discount tickets for people under 26 and she was
26...so she kicked up a bit fuss, started crying and
threatened to hitch hike to Paris on her own from the
next station...and the conductor let her off...hahaha...brilliant...

So we finally got to Paris at about 12am...but the hostel that we booked just before leaving was fully booked (no surprise!) and we couldn't afford to stay
at any of the hotels...a 2 star hotel was 103 euros a night!
Besides, they were all closed at that time of the night...so we only had the option of sleeping at the metro or at the airport...we took the airport option in the end because the metro was too cold... (Celly - hmm..sounds familiar..)

So that's where we spent our first night...second night we stayed at a "couchsurfer" place...not sure if you've heard of it...but it's an online community
where people all over the world offer their couches
for travellers to stay for free...so we found this hippie living in Paris who was willing to host us for free...was a really cool guy...totally messy but super nice...cooked us dinner and all...you should check this website out...www.couchsurfing.com (Celly- weoww.. Cool huh! Free couch stay in Paris.. how come last time I didn't meet such friendly Parisian in Paris????)

Anyway...we set off early yesterday to avoid getting stranded in the mid of the night...but we were very fortunate with our rides back yesterday...and managed
to get home in 7 hours with 4 cars...the French people on the road were really nice...bought us coffee and all...we tried to hitch a ride from this entourage of
French tanks on the autobahn...but they only waved and smiled at us...too bad....would have been cool...a traffic police also stopped to tell us to be careful...he offered to take one of us as a joke...but ofcos cannot lah...

So that's a summary...was intense...crazy...but we had a great time...we spent less than 80 euros for the 3 days...wasn't too bad...now I'm back in Freiburg...it's nice to be back in my own bed...

Ok...gotta go...meeting friends in town for coffee...such is life in Freiburg...coffee in town is
the highlight of the day...damn sad...

Ahh.... I think I want to try hitchhiking from Bukit Batok to Yishun.

And you think we have couchsurfer member in Singapore?? I'll be damned. But maybe hor...

But also, I think, hitch hiking from Jakarta to Bali, noone would survive either.
Generally, angmohs still have a lot more integrity than Asians, I think.
Though of course crime rates are high in Europe too. *shrugs*.. Just thank God she's fine.

Happy Drinking Parties

If you hadn't known me better. I love parties.

Because I love seeing my friends gathered together. Eating, drinking, playing cards, puking, dancing, flirting and sometimes screaming.. at me, that is..heh heh.

I had to run around the whole bloody place to look for bartenders.. HELLO???? You think we'll come back even if the decor and concept rock?? I DONT THINK SO! .. I think they're also under staffed.. Tsk..)


And yepp. that's about where we had the drunken bikini party...in the jacussi...

New Lap Toppie , New Year Partay

GUESS WHAT???????

I just bought meself a new laptop , Toshiba A series with Windows Vista. (Screams..) I gave up on the old one (with broken fan, broken keyboard and super melted innards so very de slow..)

I chose and queued and fought my way damn long and damn tiringly at the IT fair TODAY at Suntec OK!!!

My standard lines at every stand are :" Can see specs? How much? Got Free upgrade anything?More free RAM? Got Freebies?? "..."Oh.. got anymore? Free printer leh??? Installment got interest?? Lower lahh...".. then I got more annoying .." Why the free speakers so lau pok one..? This one ten dollars only....The mouse got microsoft one??"

Very Kiasu I know, but Marcelly only buys best value goods, with freebies. No overpricing. *Sidetrack a bit. The babes should so go shop at BYSI and TIAN studio (City link mall) ASAP, all 50% off and they're good stuffs. Really good bargains!*

Ok, back to my lappie, finally got it after consulting busy Mr Gan over the phone (he was busy scrubbing the toilet in his new house).. I think he's gonna give up on me soon. I called about 20 times about the lap tops. "Acer or Toshiba?? or NEC?? But NEC got free printer!!...etc etc"..." You sure Toshiba?? but Acer one same specs cheaper.."..

But he ever so patiently let me read out the specs one by one for all the different Brands, listing all the freebies.

And let me read it out again after half hour.

And again.

And again..

Such a dear. I wanna marry him.

Also, must thank Keith for walking me around the IT show too. He must be very de patient. Thanks hor dude.. Anyway, thanks to you, now I get a lap top and now I can blog your photo again and your friend can spot your photo and say you very hamsem mah!

But anyway, I finally got it!!! YAY!!

With this laptop, I hope I can blog more often... coz my old lap top is not even good enough as a door stopper now (too ugly).

I actually got to hug my daddy too.. after eons and eons (though very nervous)... I also kissed him on the cheeks (super nervous).. But seems like he still loves me after all... ... hmmm...tell you more next time.
